The Life & Legacy Series

Our “Life & Legacy Series” is created to resonate with people of African descent living within Africa and diaspora. It is aimed at celebrating our shared history, struggles and triumphs.

Our intention is to chronicle the lives and legacies of outstanding individuals and community leaders from both the African diaspora and within the continent of Africa. People like Marcus Garvey, Kwame Nkrumah, Martin Luther King Jr., and a long list of others are very dear to our hearts. Our mission is simple yet profound: to find the untold stories of those who have kindled the flames of inspiration within us, and in doing so, ignite the same fire in our hearts today.

Why This Matters

In a world that often overlooks our resilience, creativity, and extraordinary contributions to collective human history, “The Life & Legacy Series” is our call to remind us of our limitless potential as a people. Now, more than ever before, we need better connection among people of African diaspora, across oceans and generations.

This is also a heartfelt tribute to our ancestors who endured incredible hardships and to those among us who continue to break barriers and shatter stereotypes across all works of life. Think, for instance, of the men, women and children who raised awareness through the Black Lives Matter Movement at the wake of George Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020. These are our stories, and they need to be told through our lenses.

Join The Life & Legacy Series

Yes, we all need each other, and we need to feel the heartbeat of our common heritage. Together, let’s celebrate the triumphs and resilience of individuals who have walked the path we tread today. These stories are a mirror reflecting our own potential and a torch lighting the way forward.

This is an invitation to rediscover, rekindle, and reimagine our own legacy as people of African descent. Together, we will honor the vibrant history of the African diaspora and illuminate the brilliance within us all.
