Ted Cruz – Cruising Into Infamy For His Traducer By Austin Isikhuemen

I watched the show of shame on cable TV as America’s hallowed chambers of democracy were desecrated by, of all people, supporters of an incumbent President! It was not a pretty sight.

This happened while the Congress was at the point of reclaiming some modicum of sanctity for the democratic process of which people’s right to choose their leaders is central. Senator Ted Cruz, dissident Trump’s teddy bear was at the center of this inglorious moment and led the charge against the democracy that most of the world has come to admire and imitate.

A sad day indeed, but democracy will win still because of its inbuilt resilience and the integrity of some players who love their country more.

What is most unnerving is the fact that Ted is fighting a battle on behalf of a demagogue that insulted his wife and called his dad a murder suspect in JFK’s assassination?

For him to run these devil’s errands on behalf of a man clearly on a mission to do harm to the United States must rank as the 8th wonder of the world. First, he is a serving Senator sworn to protect and defend America.

Secondly, he was a Presidential candidate in the Presidential election primaries that threw up the plague of a leader who now wants to make the Whitehouse his permanent residence. Only God knows what he himself had in mind. Thirdly, Ted is a man reviled by Trump, insulted by him, and his father was falsely accused of murder by the same Trump.

Fourthly, it was clear to the blind and the decibels loud enough for the deaf that the American people have chosen Joe Biden and Kamala Harries as the next POTUS and VP for the next four years. Apart from the electoral vote tally, 7 million more Americans prefer Biden. Ted is either dumb, or Trump has something on him. The other possibility is that he hates America and has a score to settle with her.

I watched him speak with so much aplomb, defending the indefensible, clearly looking for a way to delay the idea whose time has come. He was doing this in spite of the fact that he knew his tactic will lead to a cul de sac.

He knew he was speaking to colleagues from both sides of the aisle who were only shocked at his foolishness and were clearly watching his theatrics with concealed indignation. Yet he rambled on, knowing that their plan to disrupt the process that kept the world awake was gathering steam outside.

His puppeteer was pulling the strings and this man who had lost his balls was pretending to be a toughie in a game where he was a mere pawn.

Now Ted Cruz will occupy the same page of infamy as the Donald whose demeanor gives the impression that he is not aware of where he is or what great responsibility he carries on his shoulders.

Narcissism, dementia, megalomania, and several other medical conditions and their associated comorbidities may have done their worst. Never before have I ever seen a man writing himself deliberately into a black book at the last minute than Ted has done.

Ted is not better than those drug-crazed loonies who scaled walls, broke doors, and sat on the Speaker’s chair in her office, the half-naked cudgel-wielding toughies with rough bandanas on the ill-maintained bird nest of hair, or those carrying flags of a forsaken past of American history.

They know no better than Trump tells them and so does Ted! In fact, Ted is worse. With his education and experience and exposure, if this is all he could do then his has become a wasted life that merits worldwide opprobrium.

I hope Nigerian Legislators, and parliamentarians who work at our National Assembly are watching. Demagogues that you say must stay in power or else the country dies are just like Trump. He surely will go to where he belongs, physically and historically, taking Ted Cruz along with him.

And those 126 Republican congressmen/women who vowed to support the crying of a wolf where there was none. Of course, there are those who have been in cahoots with Trump and his teddy bear for four years and have been instrumental to the heated polity in this American Presidential transition hiccups and nightmares but frantically struggling now to be on the good side of history.

Mitch, Pence, Trump’s children who played roles in this, and several others who ought to be ashamed of their roles in this saga fall into this group. They threw mud on America’s white garment and now they want to disown the stench! History will remember you all.

Those who joined this fray by leading their followers astray, claiming God told them Trump is the Messiah and His chosen when God never told them so, belong on the same train as Trump and Ted. They need to come clean and tell the world they lied against God.

For it is inconceivable for the God we believe in to choose lunacy over sane leadership of what has been called God’s Own Country. Democracy is still in winning ways in America. Thank God.
