  1. Staff Nurse: A staff nurse is an entry-level position in which the nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care in a hospital setting.
  2. Home Health Nurse: A home health nurse works with patients in their homes, providing care and support to those who are recovering from illnesses or surgeries, or managing chronic health conditions.
  3. School Nurse: A school nurse is responsible for the health and well-being of students and staff in a school setting. They may provide care for students with chronic health conditions, administer medications, and provide health education.
  4. Clinic Nurse: A clinic nurse works in a healthcare clinic, providing care and support to patients in a variety of settings, including primary care, specialty care, and urgent care clinics.
  5. Hospice Nurse: A hospice nurse provides care and support to patients and families who are nearing the end of life. They may work in a hospice facility or in patients’ homes.

About The Guest: Farah Laurent

“You will never be an Emergency Nurse” That is what she was told by a clinical instructor in nursing school. Let’s just say she did not listen and went on to land an Emergency Department position before graduation and before even taking the nursing licensing exam.

Farah Laurent holds a Master’s degree in nursing education, 6 Board certifications and coaches Nurses looking to level up in their career. Farah is truly an international nurse, she has held various nursing positions in both Canada and the US ranging from ED Staff Nurse, Travel Nurse, Charge Nurse, Educator, Adjunct Faculty role as a Clinical Instructor, and leadership positions such as the Director of Education.

Farah immigrated from Cote D’Ivoire to Canada at the young age of 9. Speaking French as her first language, she was determined to make her parents proud. She experienced bullying as a child and later as a new graduate nurse.

However, her positivity pushed her to see no other way, but to persevere, fight and yearn for continuous improvement. The first in her family to graduate, receive a Bachelors and Master’s degree and soon to be a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Farah is the proud founder of “Farah Laurent International Nurse Coach LLC” since June 21 2021.

Her passion, perseverance, and belief in herself was stronger than any negativity and hardship along her path. Determined to overcome any obstacle in her way. Although she was rejected multiple times, she got up and kept pushing harder toward her dreams.

Her dreams have come to fruition! She continues to set more big goals and take action towards her dreams. That is why today, she is committed to empowering nurses to follow their passion and DREAMS.
