News and news gathering are not a new phenomenon
For centuries, news has been a way for people to stay informed about what is happening in the world around them. It has also helped reporters gain fame and fortune, but it wasn’t until the advent of the modern media creation process and tools that the function of journalism began to change.
The goal of journalism is to empower citizens with information that allows them to make the best decision possible on a range of topics.
Journalism is an important part of democracy. Journalists are required to provide the public with a wide range of information, including news, opinions, and analysis. It is important that journalists be able to balance objectivity with a willingness to take risks on behalf of the public interest.
That is not a simple job and that is what we are talking about in today’s episode of Obehi podcast. Today I am joined by Sonja Williams, Professor at Howard University (Department of Media, Journalism), Washington, District of Columbia, United States.
