It’s going to be hard to penetrate the African seats of power by the youth. But there are no many alternatives out there if the change must come. African youths must become the protagonist of their economic and political affairs and they must do everything with their possibility to get there. This is their right and no one is going to give it to them at the platter of gold.

For centuries, the kind of leadership that is set up in Africa has been nothing more than a mere representation of the multinationals and western colonial powers that still, directly and indirectly, control the African narrations and her socio-economic and political life.

The African people have never really been considered as part of the bargain and therefore the younger regenerations have never been prepared to take on the mantle of leadership and become good leaders over their people.

Even though on per population basis, the continent has the youngest proportion of young people in the world, Africa is still be run by much older technocrats with their almost medieval mindsets, while the younger and more vibrant minds are almost set aside, as if they do not count.

This is the background from where we are paying special attention to today’s episode of African Leadership Podcast.

The question now is “Are African youth really Ready to Lead the continent?”

Helping us to make sense of this argument in today’s episode of African Leadership Podcast is Godbless Otubure, president of “Ready To Leader Africa”
