5 Things About Women’s Empowerment And Natural Health

Women’s empowerment and natural health are both important topics that intersect in various ways. Here are five things to know about the connection between women’s empowerment and natural health:

Holistic Approach to Health:

Women’s empowerment involves recognizing and addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of women. Similarly, natural health emphasizes a holistic approach to well-being, considering the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and environment.

Empowering women to take charge of their health often involves embracing natural and holistic practices that promote overall well-being, such as yoga, meditation, herbal remedies, and balanced nutrition.

Access to Healthcare:

Women’s empowerment includes ensuring that women have equal access to healthcare services, education, and information. Natural health practices can play a role in empowering women to manage their health more autonomously.

Education about natural remedies, nutrition, and self-care empowers women to make informed decisions about their health and that of their families, especially in areas with limited access to traditional medical facilities.

Community and Support:

Both women’s empowerment and natural health emphasize the importance of community and support networks. Women’s groups and networks can provide a platform for sharing knowledge about natural health practices and encouraging women to take control of their well-being.

These communities can foster a sense of empowerment, as women exchange experiences, learn from each other, and collectively promote healthier lifestyles.

Traditional Knowledge:

Many cultures have a rich history of using natural remedies for various health issues. Women have often been the keepers of traditional knowledge regarding herbal medicine, nutrition, and wellness practices.

Recognizing and preserving this traditional knowledge can contribute to women’s empowerment by acknowledging their role as caregivers and healers within their communities.

Economic Empowerment and Sustainability:

Women’s economic empowerment is a crucial aspect of overall empowerment. In the context of natural health, women can be empowered by gaining skills related to herbalism, naturopathy, or other natural health practices.

This not only creates opportunities for entrepreneurship and income generation but also promotes sustainable, locally sourced healthcare solutions that benefit communities.

It’s important to note that while the connection between women’s empowerment and natural health is significant, it’s also essential to approach this intersection with cultural sensitivity and respect for individual choices.

Women’s empowerment should encompass the freedom to choose the healthcare path that aligns with their beliefs, preferences, and circumstances, whether that involves natural health practices, conventional medicine, or a combination of both.

About the guest – Carol Edmondson

I am Carol Edmondson. If I were to describe myself, I would say my most distinguishing feature is my smile and the joy that radiates from within. I am very much a people person, and a serial networker, and enjoy serving others.

I am a woman of faith, a wife, mother of an amazing son (and yes, I am biased!), public speaker, event lead and host for Kaushalya UK’s online platform for Women Empowerment, and more recently ‘Men Are From Mars’ events which is a mix of male and female speakers.

When I am not sourcing speakers or hosting events, my focus is on health well-being, and financial wealth with blockchain technology with its own Metaverse. I stumbled into network marketing when I was introduced to natural health products to try and reverse a very debilitating illness that I suffered from for 9 years.

Having seen the dramatic change I became passionate about sharing my personal experience with others so got into that space. I learned the hard way by not listening to my body; the adage, ‘sadly health is not valued until sickness comes’ certainly rang true for me!

I took voluntary redundancy/early retirement at age 60 having had a very varied 45-year career in both the private and public sector managing projects which included indoor and outdoor events, climate change and sustainability, and carbon management.

At 67 years young, I believe life is for living and for the most part what you make of it even when those curve balls hit. I firmly believe that no experience, no matter how traumatic, is wasted if we can use that experience to help others on their journey

I am a native Trinidadian from the Caribbean and moved to the UK a month before my tenth birthday in November 1965.
