The Buffalo Mass Shooting took place at the Buffalo supermarket, New York on May 14, 2022. The incident took place at Tops Friendly Markets store, a supermarket in the Kingsley neighborhood on the eastern side of the city. This is what we will be considering in this episode of Obehi Podcast.

The city of Buffalo was gripped with terror when a white male, an 18-year-old wearing military gear and live streaming with a helmet camera opened fire with a rifle at the Buffalo supermarket.

CNN cited Buffalo city officials that 13 people, 11 of whom are African-Americans were shot in the racially motivated massacre on Saturday 14th of May. During the incident, 10 people were killed, while three suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The terrorist who was identified as Payton S. Gendron, an 18-year-old White male surrendered to the police after the shooting. He however pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder, before the Buffalo City Court Chief Judge, Craig Hannah.

About The Guest: Emmanuel Kulu

Emmanuel Kulu, Jr. is an African Historian and the Creator/Author of “I Black Pharaoh Universe”. Kulu spent several years researching Ancient Africa and spreading awareness of the miseducation of African history. Dr. Kulu, is of Bantu/Zulu descent through his father Emmanuel Kulu Sr.

As a career Community Peer Advocate/Social Worker, he also had a deep passion for music production, writing, history, and creative arts.

Kulu was the Founder/CEO of the Upstate hip-hop label “Tephlon Ent.” formed in 2005 and ended in 2011. Kulu tapped into film writing and acting with films like, “The Rize & Fall of Tephlon Ent.”, “Bug Love”, and “The First Purge”.

In 2013, Kulu turned his focus to embracing his African lineage. Upon deep study and research of great African kingdoms, Kulu set his heart on Ancient Egypt (Kemet) as his first project as an author.

In his project, Kulu questioned the validity of prior novel and film depictions of the imagery of the Ancient Egyptians, who were in fact, African people.

Based on his research, Kulu created a historical fiction based on true events, “I Black Pharaoh: Rise to Power” released on 02/20/20 under Pen it Publications.
