About The Guest: Natalie Morales

Natalie Morales is a Tutorpreneur and teaching Reading is her thing! Her business went online at the beginning of the pandemic, and the rest is history.

As the owner and operator of Laughing People Learn, Natalie teaches kids and adults throughout Trinidad & Tobago and parts of the United States.

Here’s Her Story

At the age of 8, she became fascinated by lightbulb moments. Natalie recalls her primary school teacher taking the class outside for paired reading exercises. At that time, whatever she did worked! It was simply a matter of believing that her ‘peer’ would succeed… FULLSTOP! It was at those moments that Natalie realized she had found her gift.

Her desire to understand how reading is strategically taught continued to grow even after she hosted a radio show and worked in the financial sector. This time, it was her two-year-old son who was the impetus.

She enrolled at the University of the West Indies to study Teaching of Reading, and as her lecturer had predicted, her son would read fluently by his fourth birthday.

Natalie is now a licensed Learn Reading Tutor, an international organization with a multisensory, Orton Gillingham-based reading program.

Her certifications include Advanced Counselling, Child Psychology, and Teaching ADHD and Dyslexia at the University of London and the University of the West Indies.

Additionally, Natalie has been active in volunteer and charitable activities over the years.
