1 Venice – Italy

Venice is the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region. The city of Venice is built on more than 100 small islands in the Adriatic Sea. Venice is a different kind of city in that it has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare.

Piazza San Marco is the central square, where you find St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and famous with the Campanile bell tower offering a nice view into another peculiarity of the city, the red roofs.

  • The Grand Canal – this is absolutely one of the most important icons to see in Venice. It’s lined up with beautiful palaces and castles on both sides of the water.

  • Palace of Versailles – The Palace receives up to 15,000,000 visitors every year, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. The palace is owned and managed, under the direction of the French Ministry of Culture.

Another interesting and unavoidable site of the city is from across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel which provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.

In the garden, you will see the peaceful Japanese garden, the amazing trees of the arboretum, and explore the spectacular glass conservatories.
