1 Venice – Italy

Venice is the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region. The city of Venice is built on more than 100 small islands in the Adriatic Sea. Venice is a different kind of city in that it has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare.

Piazza San Marco is the central square, where you find St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and famous with the Campanile bell tower offering a nice view into another peculiarity of the city, the red roofs.

Some of the places you can visit in Venice are:

• The Grand Canal – this is absolutely one of the most important icons to see in Venice. It’s lined up with beautiful palaces and castles on both sides of the water.
• The Rialto Bridge – a famous landmark of Venice which was built over the Grand Canal in 1588.

Apart from such historic structures as the Eiffel Tower and the 12th-century, Gothic Notre-Dame cathedral, Paris is also known for its cafe culture and different designer boutiques, especially along the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

• Eiffel Tower – This is surely one of the most iconic architectures in the whole of France. In case you do not know, the Eiffel Tower was the tallest building in the world from 1889 to 1930. The tower is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.
• Notre Dame Cathedral – also referred to as Notre-Dame, the Notre-Dame of Paris, is a medieval Catholic cathedral on the Île de la Cité in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. Notre-Dame cathedral is considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and certainly one place to see in Paris.
• Palace of Versailles – The Palace receives up to 15,000,000 visitors every year, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. The palace is owned and managed, under the direction of the French Ministry of Culture.

3 Amsterdam, Netherlands

the 17th-century capital city of the Netherlands is well known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades. Amsterdam is said to be Europe’s best-preserved 17th-century city.

The Netherlands’ capital city remains much the same today as when it was first built in the 1600s. Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are numerous bike paths connecting different sections of the city together.

5 London, England

London is the capital city of the United Kingdom. The city was built in the 21st-century with a history stretching back to Roman times. The city centre is dominated by the imposing Houses of Parliament, the famous London ‘Big Ben’ clock tower, and the Westminster Abbey, the site of British monarch coronations. Another interesting and unavoidable site of the city is from across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel which provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.

• Tower of London – the Tower of London is one of the world’s most famous buildings. The tower was built by William the Conqueror to protect London and to keep the city’s dwellers under observation. It was also to keep an eye on the boat traffic on the River Thames.
• Kew Gardens – Are you passionate about outdoor life? Then, Enjoy the huge outdoor space of 330 acres, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. In the garden, you will see the peaceful Japanese garden, the amazing trees of the arboretum, and explore the spectacular glass conservatories.
