It was created in 1956 by Susana Walton, the wife of one the most remarkable British composer in the 20th century, alongside Russell Page, a top-notch garden designer.
The couples lived there and continued growing plants of different species – of which today there are about 3000 plant species in the garden. The garden has two sections; the lower part, called “Valle”, and the upper part nestled around the hills.
In the 1990s, the garden was opened to the public after the demise of William Walton. Tourists and locals visit the garden to glimpse the beauty hidden on this corner of the Island.
