Trip Itinerary

Touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where a warm welcome awaits you. Transfer to your serene lodge nestled at the base of Mount Meru in Arusha. Settle in and enjoy a peaceful evening recovering from your journey. If time permits, explore the tranquil gardens or unwind with a drink as the sun sets. 

Accommodation: Dik Dik Hotel, Arusha – Bed & Breakfast.  

Begin your adventure with a short drive to Arusha National Park. Led by a professional park ranger, enjoy a guided walking safari through lush forests and grasslands—a rare chance to spot giraffes, zebras, and monkeys on foot. After lunch, head out on a scenic game drive around the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation. 

Accommodation: Dik Dik Hotel, Arusha – Full Board.  

After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park, a picturesque reserve famous for its elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive, watching for lions, giraffes, and other wildlife along the Tarangire River. Stop for a picnic lunch under a shady acacia before continuing your exploration. 

Accommodation: Naibala Manyara Lodge – Full Board. 

Today takes you to one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders—the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the vast volcanic caldera for a full-day safari surrounded by a dramatic backdrop of forested walls and open plains. Spot the Big Five, enjoy a lakeside picnic lunch, and marvel at the rich biodiversity. Ascend to the rim in the late afternoon and drive to nearby Karatu for the night. 

Accommodation: Octagon Lodge, Karatu – Full Board. 

After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi for an immersive day with two of Tanzania’s indigenous communities. Join the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers on a traditional morning hunt and learn their survival techniques. In the afternoon, visit the Datoga blacksmiths who will demonstrate traditional metalwork passed down through generations. Return to your lodge for dinner by the lakeside. 

Accommodation: Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge – Full Board.  

Drive toward the fertile and lively town of Mto wa Mbu. Explore this multi-ethnic community on a guided walking or cycling tour. Visit banana and rice farms, try local foods, observe artisans crafting traditional goods, and learn about village life in the shadow of the Rift Valley escarpment. In the evening, enjoy a cultural performance and storytelling session. 

Accommodation: Naibala Manyara Lodge – Full Board. 

Enjoy a relaxed morning and breakfast at the lodge. Depending on your departure time, you may stop at local markets or craft centers before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
