Trip Highlights at a Glance

Trip Itinerary

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where a warm welcome awaits from your safari host. Transfer to Arusha and settle into your lodge nestled at the foot of Mount Meru. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy an optional stroll through local shops or simply relax in the peaceful garden setting. 

Accommodation: Dik Dik Hotel, Arusha – Bed & Breakfast. 

After breakfast, drive south to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem known for its mighty baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Enjoy a full-day game drive through the park’s savannah, riverbeds, and wetlands, spotting diverse wildlife including zebras, giraffes, lions, and antelopes. Stop for a picnic lunch in the shade of ancient trees before continuing your adventure. 

Accommodation: Naibala Manyara Lodge – Full Board.  

Depart in the morning for Mto wa Mbu village, a vibrant agricultural town representing more than 120 ethnic groups. Take a guided walking tour to see local farms, traditional homes, and artisans at work. Taste fresh produce and learn about banana beer brewing. Later, travel via the scenic Karatu highlands to Lake Eyasi, arriving by late afternoon for sunset views and dinner. 

Accommodation: Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge – Full Board. 

Rise early for an unforgettable morning with the Hadzabe people—Tanzania’s last hunter-gatherers. Join them for a traditional hunt and learn how they use nature for survival. Later, visit the Datoga, skilled metalworkers known for their handmade spears and jewelry. Watch blacksmiths at work using centuries-old techniques. Return to Manyara in the evening. 

Accommodation: Naibala Manyara Lodge – Full Board. 

Today, immerse yourself in the rich traditions of the Maasai community. Visit a local boma to witness their daily life and customs. Join a warrior-led walk, hear about rites of passage, and participate in storytelling, singing, and traditional dancing. This interactive experience offers deep insight into one of East Africa’s most iconic cultures. 

Accommodation: Naibala Manyara Lodge – Full Board. 

After breakfast, journey back to Arusha for a short city tour, exploring local markets, handicraft shops, or the Cultural Heritage Centre. Depending on your departure time, enjoy lunch (on your own) before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight or optional safari extensions.
