What are the importance of African diaspora Women’s Organizations

African diaspora women’s organizations play an important role in advancing the rights and interests of women of African descent and they need to be encouraged. Here are five key reasons why these organizations are so important:

  1. Advocacy: African diaspora women’s organizations advocate for policies and practices that address the unique challenges faced by women of African descent, such as discrimination, gender-based violence, and economic inequality.
  2. Community Building: These organizations provide a sense of community and belonging for women of African descent, creating a space for them to connect with others who share their experiences and concerns.
  3. Empowerment: African diaspora women’s organizations provide women with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to become more confident and assertive in pursuing their goals and ambitions.
  4. Leadership Development: These organizations often provide leadership development opportunities for women, helping them to develop the skills and experience needed to take on leadership roles in their communities and beyond.
  5. The Full Interview with Vivian Moyo

About The Guest: Vivian Moyo

My name is Vivian Moyo, the founder of Safe Haven Women’s Organization and we are in partnership with Hatcham House.

Often it’s the deepest pain that empowers you to discover who you really are. My story is filled with broken pieces, terrible choices, and ugly truths. It’s also filled with a major comeback, peace in my soul, and a second chance in life.

I was born in Zimbabwe. As a young girl, I was rejected by my father and my mum died when I was only 3 years old. I moved to the UK to live with my uncle when I was just 11 years old.  Living with my uncle, I felt unloved and rejected and left home when I was 17 years old.

By the time I was 24 years old I had been pregnant twice and lost two children. My pain then became my purpose.

I was now determined to help others who might be going through a similar trauma as mine. Here is a comfortable and supportive environment, we offer South-East London women a highly personalized approach for each of our client’s individual needs to help them attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
